Microsoft has released a new terminal editor called microsoft terminal from Windows, and it is now officially released as version 1.0.

In this video, I would like to explain how to install Microsoft Terminal Editor and review its usage.

I will list the PC that introduced Windows Terminal this time. Reproducibility may increase by using the same PC.

Regarding this time, I thought it would be better if the reproducibility did not improve.

WINDOWS terminal review | 換装した感想

I would like to review the Windows Terminal from here.

The impression is that it has been replaced, but there are too many bugs. Because it's said most.

General comments, please come back (to the development room)

One of the main reasons why Windows Terminal Editor is not stable is that it is under development (bug fix).

Another point might be that the company Microsoft is a self-sufficient and democratic company.

Windows is a very old user-friendly company, and it will continue to develop it to ensure long-term guarantee and integrity even with the use and service like the relics of the past.

Therefore, old Windows 2000 games and applications can be run on the current Windows 10, and the small needs of old users will not be cut off as much as possible.

The worst example is Internet Explorer. (It is better to round down or want to round down)

Next, since Windows is a large company, they naturally want to set our own specifications and develop in our own language and ideas.

This is because using external services for critical areas increases the risk of distorting decision making by external opinions.

These are services, languages, programs such as command prompt, power shell, and Windows server.

From here we will mainly focus on CLI users.

Large companies with abundant funds can pay the license fee of Windows server. However, individuals and small / medium sized startups do not want to pay as much as possible, such as using the extremely expensive Windows server.

Therefore, small and medium-sized enterprises and tech companies use a Linux server that can be used without license as a server.

Naturally, since Linux and Windows have different religions, the learning costs paid by Linux cannot be used on Windows.

If that happens, Microsoft will drop potential customers who are using Linux servers, resulting in lost opportunities.

In terms of business strategy, Microsoft will develop a Linux language, such as Bash Shell, WOL service, etc., and implement a strategy for enclosing users who use Linux servers.

As a result of this ad hoc expansion, Windows systems form complex and confusing systems and services.

Windows application developers have to plug all possible services such as Linux users, old Windows users, current Windows systems, etc. into the Windows OS.

If you compare it to a religion, it's like pushing Protestant, Catholic, Islamic, and Buddhist into a small box.

This is the reason why the Windows graphic user interface is difficult to understand, and the reason why Windows applications are difficult to understanding

Making everything available is a nice try. but sometimes it decline convenience.

If you select it properly, the system will be easier to see and the OS will be stable.

If you were an old Windows user who loved old Windows games, and Windows is a company that discontinues support for minorities, your needs are cut off.

Windows, which keeps minority needs as much as possible, increases the chances that you will be able to use Windows to meet your minority needs, even if you are a minority.

Instead, it adds more bugs and makes the graphical user interface harder to use.

Unfortunately, this time Windows Terminal tried to put together as many needs as possible, resulting in an error in my environment.

For the time being, a lot of people waited for the time to get bug fixes from enthusiastic Windows fans, and when the version became stable around 2 or 3, I thought that I should use it again.

It might be very risky to use Windows' new attempt at nightly.

Last but not least, I think it's the terminal editor that comes with Visual Studio Code.

that's all. I'm glad if you can use it as a reference.
